Skype Creating 400 New Jobs
Skype has made a statement to say that it will be creating 400 new jobs across 5 cities in the not so distant future.
Skype which is currently owned by Microsoft said that it would be starting its recruitment drive in London and Stockholm.
At a later date more jobs will be created in Tallinn in Estonia; Prague in the Czech Republic and also Palo Alto in California, USA. Skype hopes to have completed its first set of recruitment by the end of June this year. Once all of the positions have been recruited for Skype will employ around 1600 staff worldwide.
However the news comes at a time when Yahoo have announced that they are planning to cut their staff numbers by 2000. The news has hit the technology wold that Yahoo will be announcing shortly that it will have to make 2000 of its staff redundant. Some experts are worried that this might be the start of a larger set of job losses from Yahoo.
However the news about Skype is not only good for the extra jobs that will be created in the UK but also for the jobs that will be created around the world.
