RBS and Natwest Banking Glitch Affects Accounts

It has been reported that the UK bank the Royal Bank of Scotland has made an announcement to say that its customers and also NatWest customers have experienced account problems because of maintenance work that is being carried out.

According to the statement some customers of the banks have been unable to check the money in their accounts and some accounts have not been credited with the money that they should have been.

A spokesperson from RBS has said that they are extremely sorry for the glitch and that the problem had mostly affected online banking and also telephone banking customers. It went onto say that the ATM machines were operating as usual and that were not experiencing any other problems with other aspects of their banking system.

They went on to say that they are working as hard as they can in order to fix the problem and that they will keep their customers fully informed about the progress of the maintenance.

It comes at a time when HSBC customers in the UK also had trouble using the ATM machines and some online banking services due to a glitch in HSBC banking systems.
