New Rules For Grand National Revealed

It has been reported that the Grand National that will be held on Saturday will have had several safety modifications to it. The new modifications are designed to increase the safety of the race. Experts have said that whilst the new modifications have been brought in to make sure that there is a lower risk of an incident it will also mean that most of the air of danger that surrounds this famous horse race will be kept.

The horse race is one of the most famous in the UK racing calendar and is held at Aintree racetrack in Liverpool .

Two horses died in the Grand National last year and there have been further more horse that have died at the Cheltenham Festival.

This has meant the welfare of the horse has been called into question and this is the reason why the new rules are coming into force.

One of the new rules that is being brought in is that all horses that compete in the race must be over 7 years old .The thinking behind this new rule is that as the horse are older they will be less likely to panic at the fences and therefore there will be less chance of an accident.
