Mary Portas Advises UK Government

It has been reported that the UK government has confirmed that it has now accepted all of the recommendations that have come from the retail expert Mary Portas. Mary Portas put forward 28 recommendations in total to the UK government in a bid to help to put some life back into the UK high streets.

One of the recommendations that was put forwards was to put together special teams who were specially targeted with working with local high streets to rejuvenate them.

The UK government has also confirmed that has now removed red tape in order for it to be easier for it get more businesses to re-open on the high street.

The UK government asked Mary Portas to advise it on what it could do to improve the failing high streets in the UK. Ms Portas has had several shows on UK TV which all have highlighted how the UK is losing independent stores and many ships on the high street are now empty.

It seems that the current economic climate and the rise of internet shopping has hit UK high streets hard and many of the shops are closing down.
