Lifeguards Warn of High Sea in Devon and Cornwall
UK coastguards are warning that the waters that surround Devon and Cornwall are going to be rougher than usual over the next few days.
Coastguards who operate the waters around the area are warning suffered to take a great deal of care if they are out on the water today as they have had to deal with four call outs already in a space of three hours today.
It seems that there were three accidents off one beach in the area and another accident off another beach.
According to the announcement there have been reports of waves that are between 10 and 12 foot and it is thought that the waters will remain rough until Sunday at least.
Lifeguards have warned surfers that there might be an undercurrent and to stay away from the water if they are not confident in their abilities.
The surfers that had to be rescued were being treated and one had serious head injuries. It seems that people are getting into trouble as they are unaware of the dangers of the currents and the height of the waves in the area.
