Google Opens Online Store to Sell Tablets

It has been reported that Google is getting ready to open an online store that will sell its tablet computers directly to the customer.

Reports have said that the store will sell Google branded tablets as well as other models such as Samsung and Asus. The report has come from claims the Wall Street Journal.

Many experts think that the move is an attempt to win back shares from Apple which currently dominates the tablet market across the world. As of yet Google have not made a statement about the report.

Google opened its first hardware store to mixed reviews. The store sold the first Android phone which was called the Nexus One and this opened in July 2010.

When the phone was put on sale on line the saes were sluggish and were quickly superseded by the handsets that were sold at mobile operator stores, as a result the sale of the phone online stopped back in 2010

Google is hoping to learn from its mistakes from last time and it hopes that the way in which the tablets are used (i.e. in the home) will mean that the user will not have to go through a mobile network as they will be using their home wi-fi.
