Boy Finds Lost Family With Google Earth

It has been reported that a boy from India who lost his parents back in 1986 has now been re-united with his mother 25 years later.

It has been reported that he man traced his mother from his new home in Tasmania by using satellite images.

The boy called Saroo was only five years old when he got lost. At the time he was travelling with his older brother and they were both working as sweepers on India’s trains.

He recalled that when he got lost it was late at night and he had fallen asleep and lost his brother. When he awoke he got on the wrong train and this took him on a 14 hour journey.

The train ended its journey in Calcutta which is a city that is well-known for its poverty and slums.

He remembers how he had to sleep rough and had to beg in order to survive.

He was taken in by an orphanage and adopted by a couple who were from Tasmania.

When he was adopted he was not able to tell people the name of the town where he grown up.

He has now traced his family 25 years later using his memory of where he used to live and also the help of Google Earth.
